One guilty pleasure

Oh My. This is a hard one. What is my one guilty pleasure. I would like to say it is In N Out or Culvers which I had for the first time a last weekend. It changed my life. I had to vow not to ever eat it again after I had it twice in 3 days. I still feel sick. For those who don't know what it is, it is a fast food chain where they fry the burgers in butter. AMAZING!

I must say my guilty pleasure is Taylor Swift! I have told people I am over her, but let's face it, that is a lie!!!

She may not be that talented, but her songs are so damn catchy and I can actually sing along, Heck, I may even be a better singer than her!! Taylor, if you read this, please stop making cat eyes with your eyeliner! My favorite song has to be Our Song!!

Major the Dog

My mom sent me this email about their dog, Major:

Major has been very upset.
Since the floors were refinished, they stay outside most of the time since it is warm weather. They also eat and drink outside. At first, I kept dry food outside for them to decide when they were hungry. Since I used Major's big bowl, he decided it was for him only. When the others went to eat, he would jump ahead of them and eat all of the food. So I stopped keeping it outside and fed them once a day, dry food, as much as they wanted. And when we had leftovers, it was mixed with their food. Last night, we didn't eat supper, so they had only dry food. I put 3 bowls, one for each and they could eat as much as they wanted, but the bowls came up after they were finished. Major decided he didn't want that, pitched a pouting fit and wouldn't eat. So he didn't. Tonight, he was soooooooooo happy to have his bowl of dry food, he gobbled it up, then got dog biscuits for dessert. Now, his belly is full and he is taking a nap before bedtime. They all learned a lesson with Major's fit last night. No trouble at dinner tonight!
Some dogs have to learn the hard way, just like people.

iPad

I am normally not into fancy tech products, even though I work at CNET. I sit by the editors now and just got to play with an iPad. I think I need one! I have never had my own computer (laptop or desktop). This would make up for it.

Easter

Bryan and I had a great Easter! We went to a nice catholic service Saturday night. On Sunday, we went to my friend Claire's house. We ate, drank margaritas, played games, and dyed Easter eggs. It was great! We have always been very lucky to find people to celebrate holidays with.

Lazy Weekend

This weekend was very lazy, but very nice! Saturday, I worked out, lunched with friends and got a mani and pedi. I wish I could be a lady who lunches.

I caught up on all my tv shows. I love The Good Wife. I love Gossip Girl. I love Modern Family.

Sunday, I woke up at 9:30. I made corned beef hash with leftovers. It was so good, it put me to sleep. I had plans of cleaning, but that didn't happen. I did manage to do laundry though. The highlight of Sunday was listening to Ansley pitch a fit while I was talking to Jamie. I guess she really wanted a Popsicle.

Maybe cleaning will happen next weekend.

I don't have Poletential

Friday night I went to help celebrate a friends birthday at Poletential. Poletential is a pole dancing studio in Red wood City. it was so much fun! We started the evening off with girly cocktails. Then, moved on to stretching an the pole. Even though I took dance for many years as a young girl, I am not graceful. Nothing about my moves looked sexy. I did try to climb the pole and was somewhat successful. My favorite was twirling and sexy crawls. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a fun girls night out. We then went to have margaritas and tacos!!

I have a new found respect for Pole dancers...they work hard for their money!

Sunday Night Dinner

I try to be a good wife every once in a while and cook a nice dinner. It usually happens on Sunday's. Tonight, I tried to make Chicken Marsala. The main ingredients are chicken, mushrooms, and Marsala wine. I started to cook and realized I didn't have mushrooms. I didn't want to go to the store, so I used onions instead. I think Chicken Marsala is actually better with onions.

Click here for the recipe I used. Make sure to use onion instead of mushrooms!

Fortune Cookie

Yesterday I went to pick up Chinese food with my gal Tayra. I got a very appropriate fortune in my cookie. I think this will be my new motto.

Do not dwell on differences with a loved one. Try to compromise.

Lent

This year for lent, Bryan and I are giving up eating out for dinner. Lately, it seems we are always eating at restaurants. The rules are:

-We can eat out for brunch or lunch
-If someone invites us out to dinner, we can go
-We can have takeout once every 10 days.

What are you giving up???

State College

As much as I loved State College, I am so glad I am not there now. I can't deal with the snow. My first and last snow driving experience lasted 2 minutes. Right now it feels like 19 Degrees getting colder by the minute and will be snowing all weekend!

Stay Warm PA friends! We Are....Penn State!

My Girl Crush

My girl crush on Taylor Swift is OVER! I do love her first two Cd's, but her new songs are just not very good and she was horrible at the Grammy Awards. I could barely watch the entire performance. Sadly, I think she has no where to go but down.

My new crush is Carrie Underwood! She is super cute, has great style, and has a HOT Fiance. Carrie, please take him in public more often. I love her new CD and new video. I got tears in my eyes.

Breakfast and Trainer

I have been working with the best trainer. Her name is Adriana Mireles.

She has been telling me how important it is to eat breakfast. Last week I started making her recommendation. It is sooo easy.

Get Flat Out low fat wraps, slather it with one wedge of laughing cow cheese. Top with turkey bacon, and an egg. Wrap it up and eat! It is so good. I can eat it on my way to the train and it keeps me full until 1pm!

Here is a link to the wraps: Click Here

Also check out Adriana's website for some great tips!

Half Moon Bay

One thing I love about where I live is how close I am to Half Moon Bay. Half Moon Bay is a cute beach town along the coast. Although it does not compare to Gulf Shores or the Redneck Riviera ( I love laying out watching fat rednecks). Every time we go, we do something new. This past weekend, we walked around the Harbor and ate at Half Moon Bay Brewery. The waves were huge...not Maverick size, but pretty big. Maybe I will try to surf someday.

Christina Hendrick's

I love Mad Men. Joan the secretary is my idol! I can't believe anyone would say she is fat. I think she has the body most would kill for.

Seattle

Bryan and I decided to go up north to Seattle for the long weekend. What a great place! We both want to go back already. We got there early Saturday morning. After we checked into our hotel, we walked down to the famous Pike Place! It is a big market full of fresh seafood and produce along with arts and crafts for sale. I got some great craft ideas :)

We had some great seafood and went to the Gold Rush museum. We had a great dinner at Flying Fish. Afterwards, we went to a bar called Whisky Bar.

Sunday, after brunch, we went on a boat ride around the bay. It was beautiful and a nice way to learn more about the city. We then had more fish and chips and oysters.

It was a great trip!!! Thanks for taking me, Bryan!!

2010

Happy New Year!

The holidays were great this year. Bryan and I were able to go home a few weeks before Christmas. It was great to see everyone. The highlight was playing with our nice, Ansley.

On Christmas morning, we drove to Tahoe so we could have a White Christmas!! It was so pretty. We now have a tradition to go to Orange County for New Year's This one was just as memorable as last year.

My resolutions for 2010 are to be more positive, not shop as much, and of course to lose weight.

Hope Everyone has a great 2010!!!!
